Contest Rules
The artwork should focus on a distinctive, recognizable architectural feature of a campus building or structure of the school attended by the artist.
Only students in grades 8-12 attending STA schools are eligible to compete. Click here for a list of STA schools.
Entries can be created using any natural media. Sorry, no photography or digital paintings are allowed. The original art can be any size, but the ratio must be 3 x 4 landscape to best fit our calendar.
One art teacher from each school should coordinate the submissions for the entire school.
No more than 10 entries per school.
Art submissions should not be mailed to Southern Teachers.
Submit art for judging as JPEG files at a minimum resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels.
For the winning artwork, registered teachers will need to submit higher resolution images. Please scan or photograph your artwork at the highest resolution possible (300 dpi or higher at actual size). If the file size is over 10mb, you can use a free file transfer program and send to Goodman@SouthernTeachers.com.
In submitting art for the contest, both the artist and the supervising teacher grant Southern Teachers Agency permission to republish it in print and web formats. Each artist assumes responsibility for proper permissions and releases from all subjects. STA assumes no liability for unauthorized work or responsibility for original artwork lost or damaged in the mail.
The Southern Teachers Art Calendar celebrates southern independent schools and their talented students. Please encourage your aspiring artists to submit their creations!
